Fastrack - Thames Gateway plan

Fastrack is intended to be the main method of transporting people around Dartford and Gravesend when the Kent Thameside area (as it is increasingly becoming known) is developed.
The network is intended to be green, and the vehicles to break away from the traditional image of grubby buses, full of graffiti, scratched windows and old sweet packets.
Quality standards will be expected from the operators and their crews, with much of the money coming from business and from government.
Two routes will be running in 2006, and that will expand as the developments take place.
Match the network to the present road system and you will find it will run through derelict quarries, but when the system is developed Bluewater - one of the key stops on the network - will have to look to its laurels as a European shopping centre of note: the whole area is set to rival its image, quality and drawing power.
